Greetings Everyone.
My name is Hollis. You have probably clicked on this testimony because you are considering gastric by-pass surgery. That being the case, let me ask you a few questions. Have you tried countless diets in order to lose weight? Have you gained and lost hundreds of pounds over the years? Do your knees, back or other parts of your body hurt because you’re overweight? Are you aware that morbidly obese people have a highly reduced chance of living into their retirement years? Are you tired of worrying about things like will I fit in the airplane seat this time? Or are they laughing about me behind my back? Do you think maybe there is something wrong with you because you continually fail to lose and keep weight off? I want you to know something. There is help for you. Drs. Selinkoff, Pilcher and Reiss can help you change your life forever. If you are willing to do your part, they will do nothing short of performing a modern day medical miracle on your body. At 315 lbs. I was headed down the fast lane to premature death. I had high blood pressure, border line diabetes, back problems, knee problems, sleep apnea, acid reflux, depression, the list goes on.
At this writing it has been 5 months since having bypass surgery. I have lost 95 lbs. and no longer take blood pressure or anti depressant medications and literally all of the above symptoms have disappeared. The sleep apnea disappeared within 2 weeks of surgery. All other symptoms within 2 to 3 months. I now work out at a local fitness club 3 times a week and bowl on our church bowling league. Doing home repairs is once again a part of my life. I could do none of these things at 315 lbs.
Here are some specifics you might be interested to know. Eating smaller portions of food was strange at first. I wasted a lot of food the few weeks after surgery. My old mind remembered that I was supposed to eat an entire plate of food, or more. But the surgery helps renew your mind to eat smaller portions of food. As this begins to happen food becomes a non-issue, is satisfying, and very manageable. Another thing I have finally realized is that it’s okay to throw away left over food. You have to remember to listen to your new stomach when you are full, not your mind. You’re mind will lie to you, your stomach will not. Probably the most important testimony I can share with you is the change of attitude and renewed spirit this surgery can give you. My overweight condition contributed significantly to a very depressed and broken spirit. As the weight came quickly off I noticed my depression lifted and I did not need anti depression meds any longer. Most of all I have a renewed spirit. Those around me have noticed a marked transition from old self to one of a renewed outlook on life. As for my physical experience with this surgery, I have had no side effects whatsoever. No vomiting, loss of hair, low energy, etc. This surgery has been one of the most important life changing events in my 52 years of life. God bless each of your as your consider this surgery.
